www.unizar.esThe Paraninfo of the University of Zaragoza is an emblematic building of the late nineteenth century that was founded as a medical faculty. Over time their uses have changed but their aesthetics and design continue to captivate those who come to visit it.
The project was presented in 1886 and was run by the architect Ricardo Magdalena. The building was inaugurated in 1893. It was built as the headquarters of the Faculty of Medicine and Sciences of the University of Zaragoza. Since 1977 it has been declared a Property of Cultural Interest.
Today, the building is no longer used to teach and its uses have changed: in addition to having various administrative services of the university, it has an exhibition hall where different exhibitions are held every year. In the hall of events are held various institutional events of the University of Zaragoza, as well as conferences and receptions in the rest of the rooms. In its old library are preserved old manuals of anatomy and scientific works. There is also a restaurant and a gift shop.
In addition, inside the Paraninfo of the University you can visit the Natural Science Museum. This museum at the University of Zaragoza was opened in 2015. It is a space created to research, preserve, increase and promote heritage linked to the natural sciences.
